Skincare Review | &Habit Black Tea Kombucha Mask

Dear Reader,

As you may know, Japan is famous for having those everyday face masks, which is a replacement for your everyday skincare routine. You use it for one minute, and then put on your makeup. It’s nice for people who are really busy, or for people need that extra five minutes of sleep in the morning.

Saborino is famous for their line of 1 minute masks, and they have a larger variety. However, I personally have never used them, because I was satisfied with my previous skincare routine. The reason why I tried out this line from &Habit is because the idol Jaejoong, shared it on his Instagram. And let’s be real, why else do I try out most beauty products?

Anyway, I searched high and low for this product, but I could only find it on an (indie?) Japanese makeup store I had never used before, or on the &Habit website, which is completely in Japanese.

&Habit: https://andhabit.com/shop/%EF%BC%86%e3%80%80Habit/g/gahb002-ahb18002aa/

Product Description (please note I had to pull this from the website, and translate it myself because it’s not a product sold in many English speaking stores, and my Japanese is only subpar):

  • Apply 1 minute before makeup for beautiful skin.
  • 1 sheet has 6 roles, you can quickly do your makeup even when you’re busy everyday. 6-in-1: cleansing, booster essence, lotion, moisturizer, serum and cream.
  • Filled with kombucha serum, cucumber fruit extract, bilberry leaf extract, hawthorn extract, nutmeg fruit extract, grapefruit fruit extract, apple fruit extract, orange juice, lemon juice and lime juice, for moisturizing and nourishment.
  • 32 sheets.

Review:

So, you can use it everyday, but I jut use it on days when I’m super busy. I also don’t think it’s moisturizing enough during the winter months, so I add extra lotion. However, I think if you live in a humid place this should be perfect on it’s own.

I also wash my face the night before, so I’m not that sure what it means by cleansing? I think that’s a bit weird for a face mask, but I’m sure they have science behind it.

I do like fermented skincare products though, so I was intrigued by the kombucha aspect of it. Fermentation is good for helping the skin absorb products better, anti-aging, skin brightening, among other things. I will say that I left it on for longer than 3 minutes, and my skin started to tingle. Probably from the kombucha, but it didn’t irritate my skin any.

Oh, and the mask also smells very nice, kind of lemony? I really enjoy it, because it isn’t over powering.

Overall, I’d give it a rating of 8/10. It was a good product, but not a holy grail for me. It did, however, expose me to the world of 1-minute masks! Once I finish it I may try another brand.

Anyway, thanks for tuning in~ see you later!

Love,

Rin

How I Edit my Instagram Pictures

Dear Reader,

Someone DMed me on IG and asked me what I do to edit my Instagram pictures, and LOL let me tell you, I am the laziest Instagrammer out there. Like, I take a pic, run it through an app, and BOOM post. But that’s for my manga account, honestly I still haven’t figured out what to do for my insta_rinnn account, but I’ll let you know when I do.

Anyway, here’s what I use for my manga IG @love_rinnn!

Camera: I have the iPhone 8 Plus, and I just used the camera that comes with the phone. I usually select the square function, because it’s easier to see how it will look on instagram that way. I know some people will take the photo, and then crop it, but I like to take it as a square because it saves time. Plus, I think it looks nicer.

Photo Editor: I use the foodie app to add a filter and brighten the photo if it needs it.

The Foodie app is the yellow app at the bottom. Then, I upload the photo I took, and used the YU5 filter. I used to use the YU2 filter, but these days I like the way the YU5 filter smooths out my pictures. If you think your picture needs to be brighter, use the middle button to do any adjustments.

So my picture came out looking like this:

So, yeah! That’s how I edit my pictures, super easy right? Also, here are some tricks I’ve learned about uploading pictures.

Tips:

  • People are attracted to bright colors, so try to use a bright background. I use white because it’s basic, and matches most any other colors I put on top of it. Like purple or pastel pink.
  • Take pictures in natural lighting, you’ll have to brighten your pictures less that way. Which is what I did in my sample picture, after that all I had to do was add the filter and call it good. Plus, there’s less shadows. Shadows ruining my pictures is the bane of my existence tbh.
  • Don’t be afraid of experimenting and finding the right style for you! IG is about having fun, so have fun and don’t worry about what others think! ❤

So, there you have it!

I hope you enjoyed this little post, and feel free to DM on insta with any questions you have! Like always, this post isn’t sponsored, and I’ll catch you guys later! Bye~~

Love,

Rin

September Favorites 2018

Dear reader,

So, I’m trying to get back into lifestyle blogging, and I wasn’t really sure what to post? But someone on Instagram suggested I start doing monthly favorites! Which is definitely doable, as I’m always trying new stuff. So, without further ado, here’s what I loved during the month of September!

Beauty:

I did go on vacation in September for a week in Las Vegas, and it was so hot! I honestly didn’t’ wear tons of makeup, but I wouldn’t have been able to live without my sunscreen. I used the Skin&Lab Dr. Vita Clinic Fre C Sun Lotion, which is a Korean brand of sun screen. What I person liked about it was how light weight is was, and it didn’t leave a white cast nor was it greasy. Major A++ in my book. Even my mom liked it!

On that note, I seemed to like a lot of Vitamin C products this month because I also loved the Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drops. It’s a very light serum that brightens your complexion and leaves you skin feeling super soft!

As for makeup, I really liked the Labiotte Wine Lip Tint in CR01. which is a pretty coral color. I would basically wear eyeliner and lip tint everyday and call it good. But when I wanted to be extra, I really enjoyed using a tiny eye shadow quad from Canmake. I used the Perfect Stylist Eyes 14, which was just some purple and pink and a glitter shade.

I’m honestly sooo basic. I watch so many makeup videos, and I own a lot of eye shadow palletes, but I end up using like the same three colors over and over again (usually copper, taupe, or brown).

This month I forced myself to do use different colors, and the results were okay (lol). But my go-to colors are still brown and copper.

This is why I’m not a beauty guru lol.

Anyway, moving on from beauty stuff.

Fashion:

Lol, I’m not the most fashionable person, because I live in Alaska and I don’t really care (there’s no one to impress here). But I am a handbag person, so for my birthday I bought myself some bags!

My favorite was this cute Michael Kors bag, that’s shaped like a backpack (but it’s a crossbody)!

I’m super obsessed with it, and I use it everyday. It came in several colors, but I bought it in black for everyday use. 10/10 would recommend.

Books/Music/Media:

So, while I received manga for my birthday, I didn’t really read any. I was so busy in September (and a bit sick), I didn’t have that much time.

But I did read the The Governness Game: Girl Meets Duke by Tessa Dare, and tbh it was so good I read it in two hours. Tessa Dare is such a great writer that all of her stuff is an automatic download for me.

Meanwhile, for TV shows, I was OBSESSED with the Chinese drama Ashes of Love! Deng Lun is honestly so attractive I was drooling the entire time.

As for music, I really like Deja Vu by Wengie, the MV was super colorful, and the aesthetics were on point. I also liked Puzzle Moon by GWSN, which is a super cute song from a recently debuted kpop girl group.

Anyway~ those were my favorites from September! As always, the products listed were not sponsored (I mean I wish they were), and also, leave me a comment down below about your favorites from the month of September!

Thanks for reading my word vomit, and I’ll catch you later!

Love,

Rin
